Ingredients
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup crunchy peanut butter
  • cups Cheerios® cereal
  • quart favorite ice cream, sherbet or frozen yogurt, slightly softened
Directions
  1. In 3-quart saucepan, heat brown sugar and butter over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thick and smooth. Stir in peanut butter. Stir in cereal. Reduce heat to low; cook and stir 5 minutes longer. Remove from heat.
  2. Spread mixture on waxed paper or foil. Cool completely.
  3. Spoon half the mixture in ungreased 13x9-inch pan. Press firmly with back of buttered spoon or hands. Spread evenly with ice cream. Top with remaining cereal mixture; press down firmly. Freeze until firm. For bars, cut into 4 rows by 3 rows.
